What is sheet vinyl flooring?

 
This vinyl flooring comes in large sheets and widths of six and 12 and 13 feet, with thicknesses that range from 2-mm to 4-mm and higher for premium products. It is waterproof, making it ideal for the kitchen, bath, and other wet areas, but the high-end design makes it perfect for different rooms, such as the living area. Waterproof vs. water-resistant flooring

 
You first need to understand what makes a product waterproof. A waterproof product is made from entirely waterproof materials, in this case, PVC (polyvinyl chloride). The capability is inherent, and the floor can be either spilled on or submerged. Just wipe it down, and it will be fine. Something can be highly water-resistant, with special coatings and constructions, but there will always be a chance of liquid seeping through, staining and rippling.

These days you can get true-to-life images of wood, stone, and tile, complete with knots, swirls, grains, and veining variations in full display. Ceramic tile mimics come in patterns that include colorful geometrics, chevrons, herringbones, floral motifs, and more. Micro beveling and embossing give the floors depth, dimension, and textured features: wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered and distressed looks. You can now have wood or marble look floors in your bath, both currently trending and expected to last for years. Vinyl flooring is available in gray wood-look for farmhouse style kitchen; whitewashed wood looks for a California beach motif; elegant dark wood looks; marble, terrazzo, slate, quartz, and granite surfaces; or vibrant patterns and colors.

As for durability, this is a layered product with a top, clear, strong melamine coating that protects the floor from scratches and scuffs. Easy maintenance includes only daily sweeping and periodic mopping with a manufacturer-approved cleaner. Installation can be glue-down or loose- lay where the sheets hover over the subfloor with no glue.
